Sadly, Rick Harper, our Track Manager, has passed away today 1/22/2012.  Rick will be missed terribly by the entire RMC Raceway.

 

Richard Allen "Rick" Harper, 54, of Reading, passed away January 22, 2012 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

 

Born in Reading on September 6, 1957, he was the son of Richard W. Harper and Betty J. (Mast) Harper of St. Lawrence.

 

Rick was a 1976 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. He was employed as a mechanic at Ray's Yamaha, last working Friday.

 

Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Scott C. Harper, companion of Brenda A. Keller, of Mohnton; two sisters, Donna L. (Harper) Spayd of Sinking Spring and Robin L. (Harper) Bradt, wife of C. Alan Bradt, of Reinholds; seven nephews; one niece; one aunt; one uncle and numerous cousins.

 

He is also survived by many brothers and sisters from the Reading Motorcycle Club.

He was a member of the Pike Township Sportsman's Assn. Rick was an avid camper, hunter and fisherman.

 

Services will be Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring. Rev. Rebecca J.P. Hoover will officiate. Friends and relatives will be received Wednesday 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.
